While we are working to insure no errors will occur with non-standard characters, it has been discovered that some default settings have been changed causing a replacement of grammatical symbols to be replaced automatically by Google Docs, and future symbols may be added to this that will require manual inclusion to our database. To avoid any future replacement changes, there is an easy setting in Google Docs which can be disabled, and will not automatically replace these standard symbols with a non-supported character.

In Google Docs, under your Tools menu, you will find the Preferences option where you can disable the Google smart quotes feature.





This "Use smart quotes" feature is automatically replacing several standard grammatical symbols with unique non-supported characters such as ' with ‘ and ’ which can cause errors when attempting to save or send a messaging template. Several such symbols have been added to the autoflow database with a replacement code to prevent this, however each symbols does have to be added manually in every case.



Several symbols in the default Substitution list can also cause such errors, and is recommended to be disabled. As these are a much smaller list of characters, many have been added to the autoflow database. It is recommended to disable these substitutions when making any template message to be included in autoflow to prevent errors when saving or sending messages.
