What is autotext.me doing to fix the filtering issue?
The filtering issue is occurring because AT&T has not yet enacted their new protocols. The new method for managing traffic was pushed back from their initial implementation date of March 1st. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do, as this is up to AT&T to resolve.
What is A2P 10DLC?
Application to Person 10 Digit Long Code. The numbers provided by autotext.me fit under this category.
What is going on?
A2P 10DLC numbers will require registration by certain US MNOs (Mobile Network Operators) / carriers between April 1, 2021, and June 1, 2021.
A newly introduced 3rd party authority, TCR (The Campaign Registry), is the entity that carriers have partnered with for the registration process.
10DLC texting rates are also being increased.
Which carriers are requiring this?
AT&T and T-Mobile are the largest, so far. T-Mobile is following AT&T’s example.
What do you need to do?
Wait patiently. We know how aggravating these changes are, but autotext.me will manage the registration process for our clients as soon as it becomes possible to do it correctly and in a way that won't lead to disruptions. We may have a few questions for you as details continue to emerge.
What if someone doesn’t want to be registered?
Carriers like AT&T and T-Mobile will begin completely blocking unregistered text numbers and leveraging fines.
What are the workarounds?
Since non-compliance would put our clients at risk, autotext.me will operate as a good faith texting provider and comply with all requirements.
In other words, there are no workarounds. We’ll continue to follow the rules.
Is this only an issue for autotext.me?
No. This affects all businesses texting people within the US.
Is this an issue for Canada?
If you text people who are using one of the participating carriers in the US, you will be affected. We will share any new details on this as they develop. This should be rare, but we are exploring options for CA shops to mitigate any risks.
Where can I get more information?
